Talented Tuesday: Cake Decorating

Talented Tuesday is a daily blogging prompt used by many genealogy bloggers to help them post content on their sites.  Got ancestors who had a special talent? Be it musical, comical, or any manner of skill, post at your genealogy blog through words and pictures.

00007 - 0007 Elsie Reynolds Gwendolyn and Claude Stout with Christmas Cake

In the 1960s and 1970s, Cake Decorating became the hobby of choice for many women across the country.  My Grandma Thompson, Gwendolyn Stout Thompson, really got into cake decorating and was quite talented at it.  She used to make decorated cakes for Christmas and other holidays.   In the photo she is holding a cake that she and her mother, my Great-Grandmother Elsie Reynolds Stout, made for Christmas Dinner.

I recently posted a newspaper article on Euel Thompson along with an image of the newspaper article. That is all I have at the moment but it might be of interest to you. It included a newspaper photo.
