Big Flat, Arkansas

Big Flat is a town in Baxter and Searcy counties in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The population was 104 at the 2000 census.
Big Flat, Arkansas figures prominently in my genealogy research. Many of the relatives on Mom’s side of the family are from Big Flat. These family lines include the Treat, Lawrence, Barnes and Branscum Families.
The children’s author, Robbie Nell Tilley Branscum, was born in Big Flat and may be related to my family lines. Also, from Big Flat, is Clarence Treat, who may also be related. He was an original member of The New Christy Minstrels.
