Week 13: Sweets – 52 Weeks of Personal Genealogy and History

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a major sweet tooth!  I love chocolate and most any sweets.

My favorite sweets when I was a kid were made by my grandparents:  Rocky Road Fudge by Grandpa Thompson and Chocolate and Lemon Pies from my Grandma Treat (small slices of both pies should be eaten together for the best effect!).

I also loved the “wackies” that my aunt Judy and my mom made!  I don’t know why they were called wackies but now you can find the recipe as chocolate no-bake cookies.  They are basically a chocolate-peanut butter fudge with quick-cook oats added.  I still love these!  I make them sometimes (and sometimes they even come out right so we get to eat them!).

I have major baking and candy-making issues! But, the pies I can sometimes get my sister or sister-in-law to make those for me – they can actually bake!
