Eugene Scott Stamps
Eugene Scott Stamps, 87, resident of Huntsville, died February 25 at the Madison County Hospital. He was born October 27, 1877 in Carroll County the son of John and Elizabeth Stamps. He was a Justice of the Peace and deputy assessor of Madison County for a number of years and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Earlin Stamps of Huntsville; two sons, Garland of Castleford, Idaho and Clarence Stamps of Fayetteville; five daughters, Mrs. Era Sparks of Huntsville, Mrs. Bessie Stout of Buhl, Idaho, Mrs. Polly Yingst of Fayetteville, Mrs. Floy Perry and Mrs. Grace Casteel of Huntsville; one brother, Bee Stamps of Kingston and one sister, Mrs. Maggie Whitaker of Kingston; 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Huntsville Church of Christ with Rev. Bruce Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in the Alabam cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
