HOBBIES – 52 WEEKS OF PERSONAL GENEALOGY & HISTORY

My main hobby as a child was playing with Barbies.

I would spend a lot of time being her hairdresser.   However, women around the world can be thankful that I didn’t go into that as a job because my Barbies usually ended up bald!  I would cut a little from one side and then go to the other side and cut some there.  But the second side would be shorter than the first and so I would go back and cut more from the first side.  Then, it would be shorter so I would have to cut more from the other side!  This would be repeated until the doll was bald!Rolling on the floor laughing

When I wasn’t being her hairdresser, I would be a clothes designer!  I had bags of scrap material from my grandmothers that I would use to design clothes for Barbie.  I was better at this than I was at being a hairdresser!  Laughing out loud

This eventually led to me sewing some of own clothes when I was older.

Week #38 – Hobbies

Week 38: Hobbies. Did you have any hobbies as a child? Which ones?

This challenge runs from Saturday, September 17, 2011 through Friday, September 23, 2011.

52 Weeks of Personal Genealogy & History by Amy Coffin is a series of weekly blogging prompts (one for each week of 2011) that invite genealogists and others to record memories and insights about their own lives for future descendants. You do not have to be a blogger to participate. If you do not have a genealogy blog, write down your memories on your computer, or simply record them on paper and keep them with your files.
