Sherman Treat was my Grandfather.
Sherman Treat, 88, of Rogers died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, in Rogers. He was born Sept. 5, 1916, in Big Flat to William Mason and Margie Branscum Treat. He attended the Assembly of God and had served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Treat; two sons; 12 siblings; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Treat of the home; a son, Sherman Leon Treat of Gravette; three daughters, Patsy Goodman of Green Forrest, Johnnie Woods of Springdale and Carolyn Thompson of Fayetteville; five stepchildren, Melvin McDonald of Cave Springs, Thomas McDonald and Wanda Napier, both of Grove, Okla., Betty Hawkins of Bentonville and Becky Missildine of Clovis, N. M.; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Treat, Bill Treat, Patrick Woods, Mike Goodman, Tim Goodman and Michael Thompson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Raymond Martin officiating.
