Prompt 2: Your Birth

This is my earliest known photo!  Aren’t I a cute little baby?!

I was born at Washington General Hospital in January 1969.  I am told that it was a cold snowy morning and that they had trouble getting to the hospital because of the snow.

I was 7 pounds and 2 ounces and 20 1/4 inches long.  I was born on Friday night at 8:16 pm.

I don’t know who was actually at the hospital other than my parents but I know that after my mom was released from the hospital a few days after my birth that my great grandmother Venna Stansell Thompson stayed with my parents to help them for the first few days as they got accustomed to being new parents.  The first night they put me to bed and then they all went to bed.  The next morning my great-grandmother woke up my dad and had him come and look at me.  Apparently, I hadn’t woken up during the night and she was afraid that I had died during the night.  I had just mastered the important skill of sleeping through the night!

Prompt 2: Your Birth

Do you have any baby photos?

Where were you born?

Who was present at your birth?

What day was it? Time?

Did you have hair? Eye colours

Are you a twin?

Members of GeneaBloggers and others are invited to either create a post at their blog or keep a written journal with their answers.

The Book of Me, Written by You is a real opportunity to explore your memories, thoughts, information from your life, things that you can remember, and perhaps the passing on of oral history.

This is a chance to explore yourself and create a legacy for future generations. This is truly a road of self discovery and exploration.

The prompts will be delivered each week from 31st August 2013 through until the end of December 2014 via Thomas at Geneabloggers and via the Anglers Rest blog. There is a Facebook group set up read for discussion. You can read all about the project and find out what it is all about and sign up to the Facebook page HERE
